Battery Help!
Hey Guys,
I have an 2006 Club Car with 4 x 12V batteries. I am pretty sure the batteries are either original or maybe from 2009. Likely saw golf course action before the cart became mine. The batteries are Trojan T1275's and lately they barely run for 30 minutes and give out very little torque, I am thinking the batts are done so I ordered a new set, but just before I pay up, would the symptoms be indicators of done batteries... - low run time (30 minutes) - low torque (huge slowdown when going up hills) - cart bogs done, used to spin the wet stuff, now it just stops spinning Let me know what you think but based on age of batteries I am thinking they are dead! |

Re: Battery Help!
They sound worn out for sure. Do you have a digital volt meter? You can do a load test on the batteries. Hook the leads to the main positive and negative pack terminals and find a hill. See what the voltage drops to as you accelerate up the hill. If it is considerable, your batteries are going bad.

Thanks for the idea! I also believe the batts are tired but worth a shot if I can get another season out of them! I have owned the cart for 3 years and I have been running them year round, stored in a heated garage in the winter but I use the cart to pull my 4 years old on a sled on the backyard trails, so the batteries run years round and I am pretty sure it was a golf course cart prior to that! |

Re: Battery Help!
Do you maintain the water levels on them? That is very important. There should be a date code on them as well. B9 would be Feb 2009 for example.

I do maintain the batteries, used the info on one of the stickies on here since I got the cart. Do you know where the code would be? I checked quickly today and could find one. I was hoping for a blatant date stamp... no such luck! |

Re: Battery Help!
What brand batts are they? Check the negative terminals for a stamped code in the lead post.
Oops, just saw Trojan. |

Re: Battery Help!
So i dropped in the New Batts today, once I plug in the charger the charger does not start and the battery indicator light blinks... anyone have an idea what could cause this? The cart runs and all. This never happened with the old batteries???
