PQ bandit + 400 or 500 amp?
My current setup is a 07 CC precedent with a plum quick bandit motor, 2 gauge wires throughout, strong 13' Trojans and 22" tires with a lift. I can do 20-22 mph on flat ground but I need more torque for climbing hills and I'd like more acceleration off the line, not top speed. I have a 1000 amp solenoid I'm waiting to install but I want to know if I should pay the extra $$ for the 500 amp controller or is the 400 sufficient for my needs? Thanks!

500 is the max I think they recommend for that setup. Just make sure your battery pack is strong under a load, and you don't EVER put your cart in a stalled position while climbing hills. You will burn up the motor quick!

Re: PQ bandit + 400 or 500 amp?
How much is the cost difference between the 400 and the 500 amp controller? I would buy the most controller I could afford if I was wanting more hill climbing power.... I had a stock 250 in my Excel cart and could not climb some roads in our hood, after I installed the 500 amp controller there are no roads that I can not climb....

I believe this cart comes with a stock 250 amp controller. Price difference I've seen on an Alltrax 400 vs 500 is around $190.

Re: PQ bandit + 400 or 500 amp?
I had basically the same setup. PQ motor and stock controller. I upgraded to a 500a controller and I could squeal the tires and sling gravel and had plenty of torque. I could still make it up those hills but not any faster. This is where the second part of the upgrade comes in. To make it up them hills faster you are going to need more HP. The only way to get more HP is more voltage or higher HP motor. Don't do half an upgrade and be disappointed. Since you mentioned hills you are are going to need both the 500a controller and a >6 HP@ around 5000 rpm's speed motor.

Re: PQ bandit + 400 or 500 amp?
I'd say not if they are running a stock 250 amp controller.... Installing the 500 amp controller was the ticket for me to break out of the 20/22 zone and on into the 30/33 zone...

Re: PQ bandit + 400 or 500 amp?
Basing my comments off my own Excel cart with 22" wheels... Brand new Crown batts, 2 gauge cables, PQ Executioner motor with the stock controller would not get me into the 24/25 zone was stuck in the 20/22 range. Changed the controller and solenoid to get the 30/33 plus speeds I get today.... Only thing I can't vouch for is if the controller was programmed for SC4 but that should not have mattered with the PQ motor right? But without question the 500 amp controller gave me not only speed it gave me the TORQUE to climb hills that the stock controller would not....
