Default Ordered Plumquick Bandit - Cable upgrade?

I just ordered a pq bandit for my 2011 precedent with excel system.

Question - do I need to spend another $200+ on new/upgraded cables?
I understand larger wire, can carry power more efficiently. But will i see any difference in speed or torque?

Any experience or insight?

Thanks

Depends on how good your current cables are.

I think they advertise PQ bandit will work well with existing 400 Amp controller and 4 gauge bat cables. If controller is less than 400 amps, then you are not getting the torque the motor will provide with the existing system (500 amps would be optimum). Upgrading ALL cables, FNR switch, and solenoid will improve performance - all three should provide some noticeable/incremental improvement, but not what the motor and/or controller will provide. I upgraded my cart to 4 gauge cables when I got my PQ Bandit, but when I rebuilt controller bat cables were more than what I thought was warm. PQ told me if cables were warm, then go to higher gauge, which I did.

You'll get the best cables I know of from Carts Unlimited, but you can do-it-yourself if you want a project. I did my own and found savings are there, but not a lot if you go to solder.

Enjoy the ride!

Basic answer is you Don't have to do anything else if you are just installing the motor.

With just wires alone you won't really see any difference. Down the road, after you install it you might want to go with a higher amp controller and at least 4 gage wires if you feel you want a bit more torque. Scotty B makes some nice wire upgrades.

You can ask Robby, Rick or Matt at PQ as well.
