Club Car Solenoid Issue
Good Afternoon
I have purchased a 36V Club Car for my brother in law, and I'm trying to get the electrics worked out before I give it to him. The cart is without batteries, don't want to spend the $$$ if the car is a bust Here's what I've done 1) Connected a "Jump It" to the cart, and when I Jumped the solenoid the motor moved the cart. 2) Installed a new solenoid, re connected the jump it and no movement. The solenoid is NOT clicking, so I'm guessing I'm not getting power to it....any suggestions on why this would happen....would be greatly appreciated Note: When connected the Reverse buzzer comes on strong, then the "Buzz" fades fast ... Note: The Light at the Key Switch does not light up, but key seems to work Not sure the year, the tag has been taken off, but around a 98 Thank You The Cabral Family |

Re: Club Car Solenoid Issue
You won't be able to tell anything until you connect batteries. I suspect that there is not enough current with the "Jump It". Can a "Jump It" put out 36V?

Re: Club Car Solenoid Issue
There's also another serial tag behind the dash, that will tell us more about your cart.
jjance is correct, it sounds like the "Jump it" is not putting out enough voltage/amperage. |

Re: Club Car Solenoid Issue
The one behind the dash is the one missing, where is the second / other one?
Thanks again for all the help |

Re: Club Car Solenoid Issue
I could be wrong but a "light at the key switch" makes it a 48v. cart. Does it have a F+R lever or toggle? Do any of the markings by the motor posts say F1 or S1?

Re: Club Car Solenoid Issue
The motor is definitely 36v, and the only number found was 52365, small little stamped number under the dash above the pedal

Re: Club Car Solenoid Issue
Looking it up, it's a 2000.5 + Club Car DS

Re: Club Car Solenoid Issue
There should be a white tag with the serial, it's odd that they'd both be gone.
Does it have the newer style roof and seats? Also, is it a resistor coil drive system? |

Re: Club Car Solenoid Issue
Yes, it was bought from a storage company and looks like they removed it, bit sketchy! It has the triangle shaped speed controller with the bank of coils. It has the roof with the handles, and looks like a 2000.5 and up according to the club car site. The strange part is the reverse buzzer, it goes on loud then within 3 seconds just fades away. Key switch works. I have the green wire from the F/R switch on the negative terminal, the red one off the F/R switch on the positive side. Does the charger wires need to be connected as well? There I have a red and white coming off the charger connector. I'm assuming red is positive, is the white the negative side? Outside of the 2 head light wires (red and black) I don't see any other that would connect to the battery. Thanks again to everyone for help. Greatly appreciated
