Default rotating DS axle tubes?

I searched BGW figuring this would have already been discussed at length. I wasn’t able to find much. I apologize if this has been asked/answered before.

I want to get a little lift on the back on my ’94 DS. I think it would be enough to convert from underslung to overslung (ie. putting the axle below the leaf springs).

The cart already has hydraulic disc brakes and there is enough slack in the lines so there should not be an issue with brakes.

Does anyone know if it is possible to leave the hubs and axles in place and simply unbolt the tubes, rotate 180 degrees, and rebolt? If so, do I need to empty the oil from the rear first?

Thanks,

TJ

On an electric car they won't bolt up on the differential after they're been rotated. They're kind of shaped like a half moon. If they were round it would work fine, but they're not. Only on 1997+ gas cars is this an option. You'll have to use lift blocks and longer U-Bolts.

Thanks David,

Where can I find the shortest lift blocks that would work?

I heard about this no cost lift and decided to do it myself years ago. It requires some skill to cut the old spring purchases off and re-weld them on the top, I thought a better plan would be to just buy new spring purchases and install them on the top. 1/3 the work.
