Default battery prices

I have found a source for T 875 batteries at $118 each. Is that a good price. Sams has the excells for $108 each. I think trojans are worth the extra $10 each.
My source also has Crown 190s at same price. Which is better deal or do I keep looking.

Go with the Trojans...but make sure they are not quoting the black box Trojans as they are their "competitive" battery and not as good.

The T-875 is a 170ah battery and the CR-190 is a 190ah battery. All else being equal the Crown is a better deal.

I had the same decision a year ago last Feb. Went with the Crowns. Very stout. All is well so far but,of course, won't know about longevity for a few more years.

The Crowns, as well as the Trojans, have a good reputation amongst the people in the "business" on this forum.

Crowns (cr-190) were $117 each last year down here on the other side of Atlanta.

Hey Kernal, I saw a craiglist ad for T875 set of 6 for $649. They were located in Peachtree City. Probably in your area.
Will give them a call tomorrow.

In case you were unaware, golf carts are big business here. ~10,000 golf carts registered in the city. With the competition here, it seems the golf cart businesses sell the batteries for little profit and make their money in other ways. Batteries have almost become a cost of doing business. It may be worth the drive down here.

Another consideration: Battery turn over is high. Won't find any stale batteries here. Easy to get a fresh, matched set.

6% sales tax in this county. Might recoup a little on the gas for the trip.

Crown CR - 165 = $119.56
US Battery US-8VGC = $115.75 - $118.95

I tried the Sams GC8 several years ago in my '96 series CC. Only got 3yr 4mo out of them where I had been getting 5+ yr out of the Trojans. YMMV.

I had zero interest in them, but I was there for other things and thought I would see what they had and at what prices.

Right now I am stuck between the US battery and the Trojan - and leaning toward the trojan.
