Little help with my 2000 club car golf cart

Hi everyone didn't even know this was here until 3 days of searching I hope you can help.
My company bought a "used" golf cart with really bad batteries I replaced all 6 8volt batteries and got on and heard click no movement at all I checked everything solenoid I have voltage hit pedal have voltage on other side everywhere I put my meter I have 48volts but just no movement at all.

I also tried to bypass everything and went right from the battery + side to the Orange wire on the motor and the cart runs great drives all over but the wires heat up and I stop right away I have done this 2 times with really the same result drives but wires heat up so I know the motor is good the pedal is good the fwd/rev switch is good
Can someone please help im lost im sure it's right in front of my face

Start by fully charging the new pack. The batteries are the heart and soul of an electric cart.

Next - there were a few different versions of Club Car in 2000 - so study THIS DOCUMENT and advise what version it is. And lastly - find and report your serial number (large B&W sticker just below dash and above the passenger's feet) which will also help determine EXACTLY what your company bought.

It looks like I have a series
The serial number is A0028-906874
I hope that helps when I first installed the batteries I did give her i nice full charge

Here's a color coded wiring diagram (click on it) - your accelerator pedal device might be different but everything else s/b the same. Check this diagram against a few visible wiring connections in your cart and see if its a match.

I looked over that diagram and everything looks good all my wires are hooked up the same way.
I have 48volts to solenoid I hit pedal and click I check voltage on other side of solenoid and 48 volts I also checked each post at motor and and I have 48 volts I just don't get why I don't have go

Well - this is where I have to step back and leave you in the hands of series knowledgeable folks - I know how to troubleshoot various Sepex carts, but not Series. There are lots of series guys here who can give you troubleshooting guidance. I do know the F/R lever on series carts can be susceptible to wear/bad micro switches etc and various poor connections which can create your symptoms....but that's a flat a** guess since I have no direct exposure. Please step in, series guys......

Test your motor, make sure the rear wheels are off the ground and the cart is on jack stands first.

To test run a series motor:

Remove all cables from the motor; connect a jumper from A1 to S1. Connect 12 to 24 volts, positive @ A2 and negative @ S2. Swap S1 and S2 to change rotation direction.

CAUTION:
Allowing a motor to spin @ high RPM can cause catastrophic failure!

Since we know nothing of the cart, 2 parts you have to suspect are the throttle device (Vglide) and the F&R.
To check throttle signal. remove 2 small wires from controller #2 and 3 pins.

Plug your ohm Ω meter into these wire ends and operate the go pedal. The signal should range from 5000 downward to 0.

Jake - one thing we know is the motor works... he drove it twice.
Which brings to mind..... questions
1. when you drove it would it speed up and slow down with the go pedal?
2. did you try forward and reverse operation?
