Default Help accessing and I.D.'ing a i2L controller

I have a 2008.5 Precedent, s/n PD 0831-935XXX. I believe it is i2L with an Excel drive. It has the new style battery tub so the electronics are located behind the tub and not in the center. I'm not having a problem, however, I would like to know which controller is in this cart and I'm not sure of the best way to access the controller to I.D. it ? Can the controller simply be I.D.'d by the s/n ? I'd like to know if it is a standard (250 amp, I believe...) or possibly (if I'm lucky...) a 350 amp controller. I'd like to have some idea what to expect before I start twisting wrenches ! What is the best way to access the controller (in the future), should I encounter a problem...???

thanks !

are you sure it is PH? What is the full number? Look at the drivers side on the side kick panel.

It's Excel. PD is the same as PH with 10" rims, pinstripe, and a comfort grip steering wheel.

David is right...(surprise...!)...yes, 10" wheels, comfort grip and pinstripes.
S/N is PD0831-935970. Now, can anyone advise me as to the best way to access the controller and determine the amperage...???

Thanks !

Take the back access door off of the car in the bag well. Reach in and pull the tabs loose at the top of the controller cover and open the cover. Read the tag on the controller. It'll say on the tag what the amperage is. It's gonna be a 250 more than likely. I doubt anybody has changed it. None of them came with a 350 from the factory.

I got it. I thought it might possibly be a project to get to, however, I removed the single hex head bolt in the tub and all the electronics were mounted on a aluminum mounting plate that could easily be pulled out to expose everything. I was expecting a possible major project and was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was...!

Thanks for the guidance guys...very much appreciated.

BTW...it's a Curtis 250 amp...

How'd you get it to pull forward enough to see it with the batteries in the car? I'm impressed

That's fine, we can talk about anything you want to talk about. Call me tomorrow if you'd like. The number is on the page.
