Default Lift Kit 101- application, advantages/disadvantages, installation, pricing, etc.

For someone who doesn't know one lift kit from another, describe the advantages/disadvantages of different types in use, ease of installation, quality of products, and pricing. If you have one, why did you chose the one you did and in hindsight, would you have made the same choice or would there have been a better choice? Thanks,

I would love someone to chime in on this and it become a sticky. Also, what the biggest tire wheel combo without a lift.

I have a 92 CC DS that will be converted to 48v, and later lifted with larger tires/wheels.

I got my lift kit from a member here. It is one of the 'cheap' A-arm kits that several of the site sponsors sell. Installation was a breeze, and with some slight modification, it's a pretty nice lift.

I think Jake's and All Sports are the premiere brands of lift kits. We sell All Sports lift kits on our page and people love them. I think as long as you use a double A Arm lift kit you'll be happy. Spindle lift kits work, but you don't have quite as good of ride quality or steering control. Spindle lift kits have a tendency to wander while driving.

I think the double A Arm lift kit are specially good for older carts as they replace a lot more of the aging suspension parts.

You can run a 20" tire in the rear with no lift, but don't load the cart down with a lot of weight or it'll rub. The front is as big as it gets.

Well it looks like a spindle isn't the way to go so when I get to that point, I'll look at the double A. I thought the long travel looked good but a little pricey compared to the others.

The long travels are the cream of the crop, but you pay for it...
