Do it right the first time, 04 Club Car DS GE motor
Owner of an 04 Club Car DS, everything's stock as of now. It's purpose will be cruising the neighborhood and camping/lake trips.
Objective: speed and ability to handle mild off-road areas. Would like to not buy parts twice. Plans: order the speed magnet for Revolution once it's back in stock. I know that gets me to 20mpg, does increasing wheels to 10" help or hurt? Does a 3" or 6" lift hurt the speed at all? In doing that I would wait and buy 12" or 14" wheels. Last question: I know a lot of you guys probably have after market motors and such for extreme speed, but what's the best realistic speed without breaking the bank? I have a bandit motor and a Curtis 350 amp controller, I'm seeing a solid 25 mph level ground and good speeds up hill.

Lift? Allsports all the way. Wheel size? 10" allows for more cushiony tires, 12" and 14" are less cushiony, respectively. 22" or 23" tires are most common, anything larger substantially starts to cut down on low end power.

I installed high speed gears in my '92 CC DS 48v Series system and left all the other stuff alone and we are getting a solid 25mph now.

Does anybody else find it misleading when people say I'm thinking of running 10s or maybe even 12s like it's a known tire height?
My wife has 10's on her Precedent. They are stock height = 18" I have 10's on my big gas cart too but they are 25" tall. |

Yes. It's a common issue for sure.

Sorry, I meant if a lift effects speed in a negative way, I'll use 10". But if not, I'll lift and go bigger. Just wanted to buy wheels once...
