Default I have another dumb question

Another dumb question, but you guys have helped me alot and i appreciate it. I am going to change my rear end oil. Its a 2007 CC precedent. Is synthetic the best to go back with and if so, which one and what weight is the best. It has a 6 inch lift with 22 inch tires. Thanks again.

Book calls for 22 oz of 30 weight motor oil.... 80 to 85 weight gear oil is the same via viscosity index so it should work just fine too... Synthetic is nice in that is usally results in less friction too...

I've read that a lot of folks recommend Royal Purple #30 (non-detergent)...

I like the Royal purple oil, but I am not sure about the "non-detergent".

Those oils were designed for pre 1964 cars and will not meet the API class SE,SF,SG or higher requirement from Club Car specs.

Just for reference, this is the synthetic Royal purple I used, it has the latest API SN certification:

Sergio...that's VERY interesting. I purchased the non-detergent based on the recommendation of the salesman at NAPA. Haven't opened it yet...I think I need to look another look at his recommendation...

So would CC recommend SAE 30 or HD 30, or is there a difference?

I like the looks of that Sergio. I'm sure my diff is due, it's never been changed to my knowledge.

I checked my container and did a little more digging. The Royal Purple that I have is SAE30 with an "API service SJ", rating. I found a post on line indicating that it is indeed a detergent synthetic oil. I took the NAPA guy at his word...silly me ! Seems the SN is a more recent and updated designation. I can understand why this is sooo confusing...!
