Question about cables going to motor
I have a 2001 CC DS with regen 2 system. I've just re-cabled everything and there are the 2 very small wires going to the the motor. Do those need to be upgraded as well? I wouldn't wire a stereo with them and my gut is telling me to redo them just because I can, but I'm sure they aren't pulling much current. Am I right or do they need replaced too? Thanks in advance!

Re: Question about cables going to motor
Don't quote me on this, but I don't think those need to be upgraded. Let's let someone else confirm or deny this...

Re: Question about cables going to motor
Unless they are corroded the stock 10gauge is fine, less than 30 amps for the field.

Re: Question about cables going to motor
Not to jump thread but can someone explain the wires and connections needed to be made to upgrade the wires? I know the batts but where does the negative and pos from the batts go? I see most use 4ga. Is it possible to use 1/0 ga? Doubt the 1/0 will fit thru the obc so could I connect batt to batt with 1/0 then use 4 the rest of the way?

Re: Question about cables going to motor
If you have different size cables the current flow is no more than the smallest cable in your system. On the other hand they make a stud to go through the OBC which is 5/16 inch. You need to go through it if using the OBC and PD charger. Any cable larger than 5/16 is not usefull.
