Default Club Car roll away feature?

I was reading a motor description and it said it would not work with the regenative braking system but would allow for the roll away feature to still work, what is this roll away feature? I've searched and have yet to find anything describing it. Thanks again.

Regen........ or regenerative braking. This is what a "regen"car is. It comes on Club Car and some E-Z-GO's.

It won't let one of these cars roll away without beeping when it starts to roll, and when you are attempting to push or roll one with this feature, it rolls like somone has their foot on the brake a little.

This feature is not like a hard brake or parking brake. It's just like applying pressure to the pedal and it's done electronically.

That feature is kind of useless really, i have it on my 02, like its a warning your carts moving. It must be for golfers.

Yepper......... I Agree........ I have it turned off completely on my 02 IQ.

With it on, it will not let the vehicle coast when you let off the accelerator.

hee hee...... on the golf course, it keeps your clubs from running away.

Would this be a good feature to have for a 14 year old kid driving a cart, to keep them some what in control?

If you think he might attempt a world record downhill run in a golf cart, then Yes, because as soon as he lets off the gas, it's going to start the breaking.

Meaning, it will only go downhill as fast as it goes on flat ground.

Does this make the golf cart foolproof for a youngster? No.

If you're looking for safety for the teen, go get a CC Precedent model, they have an ugly rubber baby bumper all the way around the cart. They just scream watch out... I can't drive. Long live the DS.

No thanks don't like the Precedent model, I am going with an Admiral high speed motor unless I can find a stock DS 36v motor for my 48v cart. I will be disabling the roll away feature anyway after seeing the feed back.
