Default 2010 Club Car PRecedent IQ

I just bought a 2010 Club Car Precedent IQ 48 Volt from a golf cart guy in my area. When we got there we drove it and it seemed pretty fast. We decided to have them install new batteries so that we didn't have to worry about them later. We didn't get to run it after the install of batteries. Got it home last night and took daughter out for ride. It takes off fast, but within a few seconds drops to snail crawl. We installed a GPS app into my droid. The cart goes 10 mph with the speed sensor connected, or disconnected. We tried doing the runaway test and no alarms sound... The dealer says that the MCOR was replaced last week.

If you just purchased it from a dealer, take it back asap, let them fix it.

I think you got it figured out. Replace the speed sensor.

It was sold ASIS... I have spoken to him... He seems to believe that the cart won't scream in rollaway mode because the REGEN was disabled... Which after reading isn't completely possible... I was thinking speed sensor... Will a speed sensor do this? Disconnected he said the speed should get better, but knowing what I have read I think he is wrong.

ok, it does seem you're on the right track, have you gone through this procedure?

Tried the runaway test... no resistance and no buzzers... will try again.

Replace the speed sensor. I don't know how he's "removed" the regenerative braking. Lots of people install high speed magnets in them. They work great. They'll remove the regen braking that limits your top speed but the rollaway braking still works just fine. Your sensor is bad. Get a new one and don't get a cheap one from China or you'll be buying another one again.

I did what everyone said... I purchased and installed a NEW speed sensor and high speed magnet. The cart still moves 9 mph. Advise... I am not sure about the runaway feature because I disconnected the buzzer....

Isn't the speed sensor and the high magnet the same thing? But serve different purposes.
