Default Trojan 12 Volt Alternatives?

Are there any "better" 12 Volt cart batteries thanthe Club Car Trojans? When I say better, I mean stronger amp wise and run time.

Thanks

I think there is one clone out there now, US battery (I think) I may be wrong about it.. But I doubt its any better..

Starting in 2008 the precedents have the option of having 6 8s instead of 4 12s..

Phasetim and Shadowman, I was considering going with 6/8's because I have a practically new set of them I took from my E-Z-GO when it went back to 36volts. Unless there is a new insert for under the seat, I don't see how they would fit. I am going to search for a picture and see how this is being done.

I'm not a fan of electric golf cars (as you see I useually only post under gas cars),but I had to reply here. WHAT were Ezgo/Club car and Yamaha THINKING when they or Trojan decided on 4 12's!!! Run time down from 105 minutes to 85??? Must be the amount of lead used. Fewer batteries/less lead....I think it is PROFIT thinking instead of enginerring! I've seen a couple new Ezgo's, not really shure of Club car and the Yamaha almost makes it imposible to change back to 6-8's without a whole new composit floor pan/battery box. I didn't know Clubcar is offering an option...not a bad Idea. I don't think you'll find a better battery (by comparisson), you awnsered your own question.....How can I fit 6-8's or better yet 8-6's into my car! Good luck Dave

You may not be a fan of electric carts but this electric cart owner is a fan of your cart !! Dang that is cool cart! Yeah, maybe I can pick up a floor pan or battery box. No way will I mount them in the well.

Oh, did I mention you have a cool cart?

If I understand correctly the yamis are easily converted back.. The club cars will require major fabrication..

Not in my eyes. I can't see anyway to fit 6-8's into the composit (one piece) floor board /battery tray area without changeing to a different molding in the battery tray area. I could be wrong....My girlfreind tells me I am ALL the time.

I havent seen a yamaha drive, but there was a dealer somewhere in central florida taking out the 12s and putting in 8s.. I only know this because they were trying to sell the new 12v batteries of at a discounted price... I dont know how they do it, and dont remember the name of the company..
