The body is on for sh!ts and giggles right now, until after i replace the light kit wiring next week and clean the frame up a little more. I had to buy a 2-1/2" hole saw to cut in the charge port hole.I had every size but 2-1/2 They do not bore this hole from the factory since the DS charge port location is not the same for all years. They did bore the four holes for the F/R switch, headlights and tail lights. So with some painters tape, layout and triple checking, i poked a hole in it. I did discover that the new rear body, on the front face where i drilled is 11-1/4" in height, whereas the old factory fiberglass one was 11-1/2". Now i'm a lowrider by 1/4". The song Tequila with Cheech and Chong just popped into my head.
I'm still waiting for my body order. Question: Are those light cut outs the right size for standard light kits? I didn't order the light kit from them, so I am not sure if their cutouts are larger or not. They suggest that their light kits have larger plastic flanges on them to better cover the cuts. They gave me the option for the cutouts and at first I took them up on the option, but later sent an email instructing them to cut them out ONLY if they will fit the standard light kits.

I wasn't going to risk buying something that wouldn't fit correctly so i bought a light kit from my body seller. He told me the light kit is made for Double Take bodies. Anything else is a crap shoot. For 109 bucks i'm assured of no bs or headaches and a complete harness with switch ! For patent reasons the bodies are made slightly different from what i'm told. It could be bs , i don't know, but i didn't want to take a chance. When i can compare their lights to others i will know if they were blowing smoke up my asss !

I guess I will find out once I get my new body next week. I don't know if they got my second email regarding the cuts. If they put the cuts in and mine don't fit, I guess I will have to order lights from them. If they don't put the cuts in, then I guess I will be doing some careful measuring and cutting with the old jigsaw. I don't want to pay for new lights when I have working lights that will work fine on the new body. And I have brand new blue spot rear lights too.

The rear tail light holes fit my old tail lights perfect, no problem there , the front cowl holes are much bigger than my stock 92 small style old headlights. The hole for the headlights on this new body are 4-1/16" x 8-3/4". Did you order a Double Take plastic body and from who and what did you pay, just curious. I threw away my old front fiberglass cowl before i got my new one. Kinda wish i had kept it just to compare the two together to see the body contour differences, you know ! I just didn't want the hassle of getting a light kit that might give me problems (headlights in particular)and 100 bucks for a complete kit didn't make me feel like i was getting gouged for their specific kit for the body. We'll see if what they say is true or if i got hosed

I ordered my Double Take body on Ebay. It's being shipped from NC and I'm in Fl so it shouldn't take very long. I paid more than you ($570 with shipping) but thought I was getting a decent deal until I read your report. Hopefully, they got my second email and refrained from cutting the headlight holes.

Only by 26 bucks, you still got a great deal. What color did you get, the metallic colors look outstanding. Some of these gougers are charging 700 on fleabay and my local CC dealers are down right thieves at 920 bucks. If they come cut its no big deal i'll hook you up with Steve at extremkartz for the light kit with wiring harness 129 bucks complete front and rear, you can save the new rear lights and put in your blue dots. If you go to his site look under the Double Take body sets, the lights for their body set ,are on that page , not on the lights page,,know what i mean. They're hard to find if you don't look in the right area. holler if you need help in any way bro.

Thanks Al, i'm broke, again. I see another 500 going to scottyb for a controller/ solenoid buy since iv'e decided to go 48 volt now,, woo hoo ! I should have called this "Project Money Pit" I started with a 2k budget and i blew past it, so i called an emergency finance committee meeting. We had beer and milk bones at the meeting for the board members. Blitz and i voted unanimously to raise the budget to 3k or the project could fail. My daughters happiness is at stake here and failure is not an option gentleman. When you have a deficit you do what the FED RESERVE does, just print more money I wish
