Is there a way to check a charger in a parking lot? Meeting a guy in a strip mall parking lot but think I can plug it in to a stores external outlet but prolly not to the cart at the same time... Can I check it with my multi meter?
I'm going to have to say NO... While I'm not familiar with the DS at all if the charger needs to OBC to tell it to turn on your not going to be able to check it without plugging into the cart or opening it up to apply a bypass jumper or some other means of suppling DC voltage to the sense wire prong and neg prong...

Guy contacted me today and said he sold it after we made arrangements to meet this weekend. Not sure why as I made it clear I wanted it and we had agreed on price too so no haggling. It's fine though. Maybe someone offered him more. Anyway now I will have to start looking. No biggie. BThanks for the info. I think I decided that I do want a 6-8v setup after reading a few more threads the last few days. Whenever I score up I will post pics. Again thanks.

One more question if anyone cares to chime in...

If your end goal was 6 - 8v batteries for 48v, and your only choices for a starting platform were 4 - 12v battery setup or 6 - 6v battery setup (36v), which setup would cost less and /or be less work to get to the end goal...?

I'd start with the cart that was already set up for 48 volts... As the 36 volt cart would require more equipment to be replaced in order to operate on 48 volts such as charger, solenoids, controllers etc....

Ok, so finally scored something. Got a 2001 Club Car DS 48v (6 - 8v batteries) and it's a Series. Serial number starts with AA01... Had a little trip to get it so didn't get to look it over real good yet. Took a loop around the yard and put it away. Will get some pics and post them up soon. Thanks for the info...
