Invertor Install and Rate of Charge
I have a 2010 electric 48 volt club car presedent I recently installed an inverter (48 V to 12 V). There was a wire that was to be installed on the + side of the key on switch, which I connected to the switch. I have the inverter wired and a 6 slot fuse block so I can add 12 volt accessories off the fuse block. Now that the inverter is installed the rate of charge meter stays on fully charged regardless of the level of charge on the batteries. Any thoughts on how to fix this?
Thanks |

Re: Invertor Install and Rate of Charge
A couple of things...the unit your talking about is a converter not an inverter...that would get more help from the guys. When you are talking about the positive side of the switch are you saying you connected the wire to the HOT side of the switch or the cold side? If it's designed to be turned on and off by the switch then the wire would go to the cold side so when the switch is turned on the unit would then be activated. Hope that helps. The other conversation I read just the other day was the negative should be attached to the negative at the controller so the OBC (on board computer) can register all the current flow...that could also effect what you are seeing.
