Default Alltrax Installed, cart runs backwards.

I just installed a DCX400IQ on the Precedent but forward is now reverse, and visa versa. It is wired per instructions. I don't see where this is a programming option. I am thinking the F1 and F2 wires needs reversing but I want to make sure before I dothis. I have a call in to Alltrax but no answer yet.

If it were wired per instructions it wouldn't run backwards. Either flip the connections at the F/R switch or the motor. Whichever one you ae comfortable with.

I am most certain it is wired per instructions. Only 5 connections to make. Colors and labels match up. Went over it the third time and it wired per to the letter per instructions.

While this is the IQ cart, I noticed on the DCS motors, you have to reverse the f1 and f2. These are the two smaller wires. Maybe this is the case on this one as well.

Someone on here, I think it was "Nate", informed me that sometimes GE motors windings are wound clockwise and sometimes counter clockwise...thus requireing you to reverse the motor leads. I think it is common to run into this on a motor or controller swap. How has your speed and torque improved?

Reverse the field wires at the controller.. for whatever reason they ARE often backwards on Alltrax IQ controllers. I run into it often..

Thanks guys.........Got it. I reversed the field wires, F1/F2 and it is perfect. I think I'll let Alltrax know and maybe they can change the instructions to reflect the possible need for this.

How does it run? First off it is a 2004 Precedent, windshield, top, rear flip seat with Goodyear Double Ealgle which are about 17.5" dia.

Today with myself (215 lbs) and my 10 yr old, (90 lbs), flat out on asphalt ran 23.7. The batteries were charged Saturday and the charger unplugged since then. Cart was run about 20 minute on Sunday, so basically it had a good charge.

Torque, big difference in the holeshot and incline performance. Not neck breaking by any means but I don't think anyone with an IQ cart could complain. Night and day torque difference when compared to stock.

If you are running an IQ cart in stock programming, this 400.00 controller will net you 10 mph plus plenty of torque for 4 people or taller tires.

I recommend this to anyone and thanks to Phasetim for the recommendation to start with!

Sounds like you got a nice improvement. And reasonable! How many amps is the controller rated for ?

Scotty. It is a 400 amp for the CC IQ motor. I am leaving the motor alone for now so the 400 is plenty. While it is strong for what it is, I wish it had the raw power of that Alltrax 650 amp !!

Good to hear, can't wait to swap out the controller on my 05 Precedent. Are you running 4 12v or 6 8volts...I wonder if it makes much of a difference in run time with that controller. I agree no need to touch the motor...at 23mph + more torque...sounds good to me!

Were you able to program your new controller with a laptop?
