Default 8v Duracell Battery, Are they any good ?

Found the 8v Duracell battery at the local Sams Club for 109 each. Are these batteries as good or better than Trojans. What brand 8v is the choice of you professionals. I'll be talking to scottyb monday and have him line me up with the proper electronics,a new controller and solenoid, as i have decided to take this 1992 36v controller cart to 48v since its now lifted,12' all terrain tires, and will have a rear seat. I need to buy batteries anyway as the old 6v are 6 yrs old. Open for any suggestions on doing this right the first time.

I just bought a set of those for my cart. They're 165 amp hour batteries, 5 AH less than a Trojan T-875. Locally, that was my only real option. The other option being driving about all day and paying a kidney for a set of Trojans. Are they as good as Trojans? No. Are they better than the Mexican junk from Johnson Controls? IMO, yes.

Was hoping i'd get your advice. They are made in the USA. I hate to buy another set of 6 volts and stay at 36 volt pack. Is it wise to go 48 volts on my system now and just buy a new controller and solenoid. What else is mandatory if i go 48volts. Thanks dude, I need your advice brother

For your particular cart, a controller, solenoid, and charger all in 48 volt are mandatory. Cables and FNR upgrades can come later if needed but the stock ones will have you moving.

Is it wise? I would say yes. I am going 48 volt now on my yellow cart after 3 years of being 36, would've been cheaper and easier to do it the first time. It has to come down to budget in the end though, buying just the controller, solenoid and charger to go 48 volts will run you the cost of another whole set of batteries at the least.

I hear you bro, that's what i needed too hear. I almost didn't think this all the way thru.I'm reading all i can here and i'm feeling more knowledgeable of this cart. I think i read a scottyb quote that woke me up, something to the affect of don't add a bunch of stuff to your cart first and then find out later you need upgraded electronics to push that weight or toast everything in the process. You are a great help Stan thanks again. That is also my best friends name, never met a Stan i didn't like

Duracells sold east of the Mississippi are made by Deka or East Penn, west of they are the Mexican Johnson controls. Not sure if the Mississippi is the division point but it is a distribution thing.

Yes you are and two or three others mostly,,,that makes you guys tops above the rest Thanks again for your timely responses, there is nothing worse than worrying over things you don't understand. And it seems like i'm worrying about everything now, i think it is due to my suppressing my anxiety over my daughter being 5k miles away for 5 months in Alaska. I'm a somewhat of a control freak, mainly, i HAVE to protect the ones i love and now i can't. I try not to worry but its manifesting itself in other ways. I'm going focking nuts Thanks Stan, your help means more than you know brother !!!!
