Default forward, no revesre or vice versa

I have a 1984 club car, wiring is according to 81 thru 85 diagram exept i`m using 3 12 batteries wired in series. the f/r limit switch has been bypassed and the reverse buzzer is gone. I just remove the large f/r lever swiitch, cleaned and inspected it and the contacts look fine, no melting. I wired it according to the 81 to 83 1/2 club car, wiring in a 83 1/2 and newer F&R switch. both diagram are posted in the club car wiring sticky. Now with the lever in the forward position in goes in reverse, but no forward. Before they had power wired to the bottom posts on the F&R lever, where the diagram says install jumper, with middle battery pos to the left terminal and third battery pos to the right. Also the red wire from the charger plug and the yellow to the speed controller micros was connected to the left terminal. The A1 motor wire was connected to the battery positive in the diagram, and the S1 connected where the A1 should be. Wired this way it would go forward with the lever in reverse, with 24v at the main solinoid. Also the wire coming out of the motor in the A2 position is a large wire , not a bolt terminal like the others, it is connected to the main solinoid as shown in diagram. Could the internal motor wiring be messed up? I don`t understand how the F&R switch changes direction on this four wire motors. Am I useing the right 2 wiring diagram? Thank you

Your wires must not be like the diagram or it would have worked.

There are several different ways you can wire the FNR, so there is not a single answer.

Read this thread segment, it will shed some light on the wiring.

I have it wired like this pic, but with no micro switch, blue wire from key to yellow small solinoid ground posts connected together. that micro switch is just the neutral safety switch right? runs and has speed control in reverse but nothing forward. all solinoids are clicking both ways.

If the motor runs 1 way it`s not in the motor, right?

Correct.

Please follow the wires from the FNR back to the motor, You do not have it wired like the picture.

What You are describing only happens when one of the "Armature" wires is wired in the position where a "Field or Stator" wire is supposed to be.

when in the reverse postion , I have 24 v on both swivel terminals and the S1, but in forward I only have 36v to the swivel terminal that turned closest to the 36v lug. On the motor A2 instead of the bolt there is a heavy wire coming out, I`ll go try a get a pic of it, could it be connected wrong inside?

Based upon you own picture markings, it is not at all connected like the diagram you posted?
As said earlier there is more than one way to wire the system (F&R included) but it must be wired as diagram A or diagram B complete.

Where is the diagram you are using for what is pictured?

here is a pic of the motor and that wire, as for the wiring diagram I`m following the main diagram I have posted except for the f&r switch, I had it wired as in the other diagram but it ran reverse when in the foward position. I changed it to the picture you had on the 83 thread, now reverse goes reverse but no motor movement in forward. solinoids click both ways.

The cart has to wired completely like one diagram or the other. Both diagrams work but any combination of the 2 do not... and I think that is what you have now, a combination of the 2 diagrams.
