Default precedent w/ DCX500IQ troubleshooting help needed

I have a Precedent cart with the alltrax DCX500IQ. I am not sure if the other components are relevant but it also has an upgraded motor, solenoid, cables, etc. I have read many threads there but I cant narrow down the issue and need some other help. The cart recently started acting where it seems to have lost a little power going forward but the real problem is reverse. It is VERY slow and VERY jerky in reverse. Having thought it was the MCORII, I have replaced it twice. neither unit solve the issue at all. Still doing the same thing.

The light in the alltrax seems fine. It is a solid green light.

Any suggestions on what to try next?

Thanks

Have you tried the speed sensor test in the stickies? WT, year cart?

OK. I will say it so you don't have to. I am an idiot. I am new to all of this and I was skimming over the speed sensor test thing that was the same thing as the MCOR so having just tried replacing 2 of them, didn't really pay attention.

Now here is a weird part. I did the test, nothing. Looked under the cart and it wasn't even plugged in. I found the plug that I had somehow tapped off along the way. Plugged in it, did the test, and I think I hear a click happening but no beeps and it doesn't appear to be trying to stop itself either.

I took off the speed sensor and the magnet appears fine.

I can honestly say I think the cart has been wired like this for a while (i.e. not having the sensor plugged in) and it as worked in the past.

Is it possible that the cart worked fine without it even being plugged in or am I too old now to remember when and how I unplugged it?

I doesn't cost much to replace the sensor but I am wondering if I still have other issues. Even with it now plugged in, seemed OK forward but jumpy and crawling in reverse.

Thanks for the help.

What speed controller do you have in the cart? Not all controls use the speed sensor.

I was going to say, when I upgraded to the PQ motor, If I remember correctly I didn't use it anymore, now that said I can't remember If that was with the Alltrax and I had to plug it for the Curtis, not sure on that one. I'm getting Old fart Brain laps!

The speed sensor is not used. The only difference in forward and reverse motion is the addition of an inline resistor to reduce the throttle signal 50%.
I think you can by-pass this option by unplugging one of the 2 wires to reverse micro switch. If I'm correct then the cart should operate in reverse the same as it does in forward.

The speed sensor isn't used with the DCX500IQ. I've found that some times the jerking is self induced. Sometimes when I'm trying to go real slow it will start jerking. If you look down at your throttle foot you will see your foot following the same motion thus amplifying the movement. When you feel it start the best thing is to take your foot off the throttle and start over. I think it also helped to set the throttle down setting to zero. Throttle up is set at 3 or 4. No plug braking. Braking current set to 50%.

well folks, I don't know what is going on. I can push as much as I want or half motion and it doesn't change a thing.

ScottyB. I cant seem to find that silly micro switch to try your idea. Where is that usually located?

As a last ditch effort, whether its good or not, I swapped the orange and blue wires going to the motor to see what would happen. It did the exact same thing excepts now its slow and jump in forward and great in revers. Not sure what that tells me but thought I would try it.

All of this with the speed sensor unplugged.
Any other ideas???????
