Its done, and brakes seem to be fine.

Here's a couple notes I would recomend to one wanting to do this.
1) Have a good quality pair of 90* snap ring pliers, thinner the better. This was the worst part of the whole swap.
2) Have a can ready to catch the differential oil when you pull the axle.
It went back together quicker.

Would I do it again? As of right now, heck ya without hesitation.

Thanks for the info Jim!!!
I always wondered if it would work!

question... did you remove both axles at the same time, or did you take one out,
remove the backing plate, and reinstall the axle, then proceed to the other side, then go back again?

I did one at a time, but only because the oil was steady coming out.

I wish I would have done that... Before i did this:

Lifted Gas CC brake cable extention brackets

It's not exactly the same situation...
But, your brake cables still look pretty tight... are they looser then they were?

I had 6" of lift and raised the cable 4" so its almost back to stock and there's plenty of slack

I did mine this past weekend. I had both axles out at the same time-No Problems. Jim is right about the snap rings. Getting them off was the easy part, putting them back was the hard part. I would do it again also. I think this should be done to every lifted cart that plans on going off-road!

Has anyone done this mod that has an All sports lift kit. The issue that i think i will run into is if i move the brake cable bracket to the top of the axle and on top of the lift block the cable will not line up with the brake lever on the drum??

You will likely have to make a bracket so it will line up.
