Please help me figure out why I'm melting v-glide

Hi all. I have an 03 club car ds electric 36 volt I bought about a year ago. Batteries were new in Dec. 2012.
Ran great for 6 months then one day the S2 post breaks away from the motor. Instead of disassembling the motor we epoxied the post back on and it ran fine for months. Then one day it quits and I realize the vglide has melted. I ordered a new one,( crappy aftermarket ) and it melts to nothing in a few days. Then I buy the whole assembly ( club car brand ) which includes all new resistor coils, new wires, and v glide. Well just driving 20 feet I smell it melting the vglide again. And the resistor coils were super hot.
Haven't touched it since.
Also has recent new solenoid.

Anybody got any ideas?

I don't have any expertise in this area but I'm wondering if you have a bad motor that's drawing too much current. Now for the experts,..

It could be I guess but a lot of posts on here talk about how these motors are really tough, and this one doesn't have a lot of time on it.

Did they make a 36 volt in 2003?

I recently had 2 different carts that had problems with motor wires.

On both carts i had to replace one wire that got hot at some point, and melted either the lug or the wire itself.

Check the motor wires closely, make sure they are tight. If one has been heating up, you can usually see a discolored end , nut, or stud.

The motor posts seem like if I put one bit of too much torque to them they will break loose. I can see the posts start to twist if I go more than snug

The one you glued on may be the problem....

I'd also check to make sure what you replaced was wired back correctly. If it is, I would start by pulling the motor, having it tested and repaired to eliminate that as an issue. If they find a problem with the motor, you will have your answer.

Would it possibly be normal to smell a little something when first using new wires, new coils, and new vglide?
