Curtis 500 Amp Controller
I've got a few questions that I'm hoping someone can help me with (or at least point me in the right direction).
Several weeks ago, I purchased a Curtis 500 amp controller and solenoid from FSIP. Recently, the cart started "bucking" slightly every now-and-then (feels like a car with a bad spark plug) when going forward, especially when the cart is "cold" and I take it out for the first time in the day. The guy who helps me work on my cart checked it out and found a loose battery cable. We took care of that, but it's still doing it. When he plugged in his 1311-4401 programmer, it shows no faults and full throttle (0 - 100%). It only does this occasionally going forward, especially when it is "cold", and does not do it in reverse. Any idea what this could be? We've checked all wires (4 gauge), the solenoid, and controller. It has the factory electric motor on it. Batteries are about 18 months old and have been extremely well maintained. Also, does anyone know how to turn off (or at least minimize) the regenerative braking system on the controller? We've tried, but it's still working. I'm planning on giving FSIP a call, but I thought I'd check here first since there are so many experienced folks! Thanks in advance! |

Re: Curtis 500 Amp Controller
Could be the throttle control, is it a MCOR that you have?

Re: Curtis 500 Amp Controller
Yes... MCOR
Also, I just heard back from one of the technicians at FSIP. Super nice guy. He did mention MCOR as a possibility and that it may have some "dead spots" in it (not sure what that means). As far as the regen braking system, they're going to have an engineer call me back and tell me which does to punch in to disable (or at least minimize) it. Going to call ScottyB with Carts Unlimited to see how much an MCOR costs. |

Re: Curtis 500 Amp Controller
Read the stickies on the MCOR, that issue sounds familiar.
