To soften the ride, you're talking springs not shocks. Does this cart have a rear seat or cargo bed ?

Most times you can take the numbers you find impressed into the shocks to a local parts store and they can cross reference them into something they may have available. I do it all the time with shocks used on industrial machinery etc.

And the shocks on a cart are less shock and more of a damper. Shocks will extend out to the maximum length when off the vehicle, and to the maximum they can when installed. Golf cart shocks are more passive, used to dampen the motion from suspension travel. They are expensive in my opinion for what they are. Unless they are leaking, you probably won't notice any improvement.
