Have you guys tried this to lift out your batteries ?
As some of you know I am new to golf carts and have been attempting to restore an Ike casuality......
After having to remove my batteries multiple times and also ruining several shirts and jackets due to battery acid I started to seek an easier way to lift out besides "bear hugging" them. I found several lifting straps online but needed something now. Here is what I came up with. A luggage strap with metal clips.... |

If I tried a bungee cord, not only would it break, it would slap me in the face with one of those dang metal ends. Me and bungee cords have NEVER seen eye to eye. Take that back, one saw me right above my left eye once and I still have the scar!

The only thing better than a battery strap is a battery strap and an electric winch on the ceiling to hook it to!

I used the hooks from a rubber bunge cord a piece of nylon rope and about a 6 or 8 inch piece of 1 inch pvc pipe. Just loop the rope and run in thru the pvc pipe and attach the hooks on either side and bend the ends of the hooks on the rope side so they stay in place. Works like a charm.

Mine are over 80 lbs a piece... I'll have my wife do it when it's time!
On my buddies cart with 6 6volt Trojans we just picked them out one at a time but any kind of secure strap would have been helpful. I did ruin my shirt but that's because I wiped my hands on it afterwards... |
