Default Couldn't Get Out Of The Sand

Bought what I thought a stock 96 48V DS. The price was so good, I told the guy if I can drive it on my trailer I'd buy it, it made it on the trailer.
Got it home and took it for a spin round the block. This thing was fast, it ran
20mph on my GPS. Hey, that's fast for me. Talked with a friend and he said it most likely had hi speed gears.
The Queen said she wanted me to lift it, don't you hate when that happens.
Put the new AllSport 6 inch mid-travel lift, 2 leaf MD rear springs from CP+(LOVE IT), and 22 inch AT tires.
Anything to please The Queen.
The batteries seem strong, I've run 7 or 8 miles and the meter showed half charge after. I've not done any service to the cart. All the connects look good.
Went down to the sands this evening to watch a storm come in, beautiful light show. I rode down onto the beach and turned around and parked, after
Mother Nature was finished with her show, I stepped on the pedal and the cart wouldn't move out of the soft sand, I had to reverse and back down to hard level sand to get going. Is that right?
Is there a problem with the cart or is it the gearing?

20 mph is not high speed gears, I don't think. My stock cart will do over 25 with stock tires and gears. Did the cart run ok after you got it unstuck?

The big tires are like high speed gears though. That will take away pulling power, but go faster.

people have to understand these are golf carts not ATVs

if you want to play in the sand get a bigger controller
good read and great controllers

The cart seems to run fine rolling. Before I lifted and changed wheels I noticed it was having a hard time getting over a root in the yard from a standstill.
It is weak from standstill, once it's rolling it's ok.
Would newer larger cables help ?

What is the voltage of your batteries after the 6-7 miles? They may be getting weak on you.

I've not checked. Will do next time I run it. Thanks

20mph on stock tires is faster than a normal stock cart. The older DS was relatively slow in stock form. It sounds like you may have a speed motor. Speed motors are great for flat areas, but they struggle from a standing start when they are stressed. If they can't get going, they get hot and overheat the cables. I have a speed motor in mine, and if it's overloaded and you try to drive up a hill from a dead start it struggles really bad. Once it's rolling it is fine. Look back there and see what motor is in it. Take a picture of the label, or just read it and post what the model number and manufacturer is.
