Upgraded Club Car DS JUMPY
I purchased what I believe is a 2007 Club Car DS. I was told it had a 700 amp controller and a 12hp motor. The owner bought the cart built by a company that has now gone out of business. Turns out the controller is a DCX500. The cart is extremely jumpy except when full throttle. Don't know much about golf carts, maybe shouldn't have bought it, but I'm hoping its an easy fix. Can you please help me figure out where to start first?

Re: Upgraded Club Car DS JUMPY
Explain jumpy...just at the start or while you are going full speed? Have you tried pumping the go pedal about 20 times with the run/tow switch in the TOW position? If that helps then we will know what to do.

Re: Upgraded Club Car DS JUMPY
I have not tried that. I will try it thought. If I barely press pedal, to go slow around the yard. It jumps. Kinda like stop.go.stop.go.stop.go. Stutter may be a better word. Faster you go the faster the stutters, once you hit full throttle and pedal is to the floor board it runs smooth. Issue goes away.

Re: Upgraded Club Car DS JUMPY
That is an issue with the MCOR. The Alltrax controllers have a very "limited" (don't know if that's a good word) 5k-0 throttle range for the MCOR, and if the MCOR is older or worn out, the throttle signal is not exactly 5k-0 and it causes a jerking motion

Re: Upgraded Club Car DS JUMPY
Had never heard of doing that with the tow switch but it worked. I just spent a lot of money on this cart so I'm extremely sick to my stomach about this issue. I just did it and it drove WAY smoother than it has been. It did start to do it again slightly after riding it around and slowing down a few times. What next?

As long as it is a 2002 and up. The serial number will read AQXXXX, with the first two numbers after AQ denoting the last two of the year
