What you are saying is it sounds like ring gear backlash. Very well could be, or bearing in the rear end.

Well Mr golf.you my friend are correct. I bought a new stethescope used it tuesday am.btw those are great i always used an; old dr's stethescope . I placed the new stethescope every where... and on everything under this cart.. and believe this, that this thing is accurate. My noise is coming from the area ..right where i put the "centering kit" in it.So that idea didn't work.Gear access lash..isn't good...isn't right... etc.Am at a loss now. what i should do. bob s thanks mrgolf

You might find a complete rear axle assembly that you could just change out with yours. Check some of the eBay adds, or Craig's list. Maybe some of our members have one. That would be the easy way out.

Plumquick has some used ones complete. I bought one and it looks like new.
$275 + shipping (approx $80)

This noise is right -"IN"- the connection to the cart, from motor to rearend, i can find a rear setup, but this particular clunk is under the, idea it should sound like this and --again it shouldn't sound this loud. A fellow i know in the neighboring town might come out and take a listen . thats the next avenue i have thanks bob s

i could get a rear end i don't really or- may not need too.

Just one more thought. Have you checked the lube in the rear end. That sound is metal to metal, lube should make the sound a little softer sounding I think.

Yes i did check the lube soon as i left you, here the other day. In fact- i jacked it up in back and added some more oil, and healthy shot of Lucas additive. No change. in noise. Is there a definite clink i will say it this way .Normally in these karts Or should the gears be .very well syncronized from the factory? . So there is no clash at all that i would hear? bob s---thanks mr golf

well!I'm finally getting somewhere on this "clunk."A fellow who has worked on nothing buy Golf carts for 18 years,Told me today; he knew what was wrong, My motor shaft has the coupling.... that the gear box slides into....He said do not worry about this. There is a "set screw" on that coupling, which i didn't know about, He said it loosens up but it won't cause any trouble for me . and most all CC make this noise yup So someday i'll take that motor out again, and tighten up that set screw. thanks bob s

Nothing wrong with that cart that turning the radio up louder won't fix.
