Default 02 CC DS - "Click" but no movement ...

I have a 2002 DS, 48 volt cart. It hadn't been run in several months, but there had been no problems with it.

Now, as I described in the title, when I press the petal, I get the "Click" but the cart won't move.

Any suggestions?

Also, if anyone knows a good Golf Cart Mechanic in the Pee Dee area of SC (Near Darlington Raceway), I would be interested in knowing that as well.

My 01 36v did the same thing when I bought it. Turned out to be the $20.0.00 solenoid under the F&R switch. Took not even 15 minutes to replace and the cart ran great.

Could be something as simple as a loose connection though.

Just a guess, but if it has a mcor you might try pressing the go pedal a few times with the key off then try it.

I had the same problem this year.
I had a battery that was bad, but that wasn't the problem.
I bought all new batteries, but still had the problem.

It turned out my positive cable was corroded at the connector.
It looked just fine, but there was corrosion inside.
I bought a new 4ga connector from Advance Auto and soldered it on.
No problems now.

I've had this happen years ago on a car.
Even though the cable was secure to the connector, there was corrosion that limited the current.

If you put a new connector on, make sure to use heat shrink to seal the joint.
That will help prevent corrosion from forming in there again.

One of the most difficult maintenance issues is corrosion...it is constantly working to block the flow of electricity and you can't always see the problem. Corrosion can get inside your battery cable and it's not until you cut the cable off to attach a new cable end that you realize how bad it is. What most golf cart cables being so short to begin with you don't always have a lot of extra slack. So replacement becomes the best choice. I make all my cables out of 4ga welding wire with crimped, soldered and shrink tube ends. All those methods block the corrosion from getting inside the cable.
