Default 83 Club car won't move

I have an 83 DS club car with 5 solenoid setup. I can't get it to move in forward or reverse. If yo have it either forward or reverse you can hear all five solenoids click. Any advise??

Something to remember...clicking does not always mean working, also check for burnt or melted spots on your forward/reverse switch where your contacts are...these are a common problem to check for...

I tried to jump first solenoid wouldn't do anything, but I jumped the #5 and the motor runs. Would that mean the others would be bad? All of the micro switches look good.

Sorry I jumped the first solenoid ( closes to the drivers side), but the others do nothing.

The first solenoid is the one that activates the rest in the series(closest to drivers side)...if you jumped it and motor runs...thats def a good start to replace.

If the first works by jumping it, would it be just the first solenoid being bad? Micro switches?

if the cart runs with just the first solenoid jumped...it means that one is bad...it is still possible that others are bad as well...if you heard all the solenoids at least clicking, then the micro switches are functioning properly.

We swapped out the first solenoid with the second solenoid and it runs without having the key on at full speed.

that would mean that solenoid is stuck closed

i would test each one

solenoid test
Quote:
Disconnect the negative battery cable from the battery. remove all wires, restorer , and diode from solenoid
test 1
Connect an volt meter, set on continuity, place on the two large terminal studs. The meter should indicate no continuity, Replace the solenoid if continuity is present.
test 2
Using jumper wires attach from main positive and main negative of battery pack to the two small solenoid studs, polarity is not important. You should hear a click as the solenoid engages, and the meter should indicate continuity on the two large terminals. Replace the solenoid if continuity is not present.
if solenoid clicks rapidly solenoid is bad

Got it to stop. The solenoid was stuck, hit with a hammer and then it worked. Still have to change the solenoids.
