Default 03IQ DS part ID

Could someone tell me what is the "box" that is mounted to the frame behind the drivers seat. It has a black wire from B- going in and a black wire with two connectors that are connected to the - buss bar. Also printed on the top is"caution hot". Thanks

It sounds like you described the DC reducer.

Part number 101810801. Voltage Reducer. It's used to reduce 16 Volts to 12 Volts so you can run 12 volt accessories such as headlights off of two 8 Volt batteries. The single wire with the ring terminal on the end goes to B- and the other two wires on the other side provide reduced negative power to the ground block. All of the negative wires from your accessories would be hooked up to this ground block, provided you're drawing positive power from the next battery in the system for a "reduced" 16 volt circuit.

Thanks for the great explanation David. I can now just disconnect this because I am wiring in a 48 to 12vt converter.
