Can you post a picture of the converter showing the wires or post a link of the item you bought?

I think I found the problem. In my infinite wisdom I connected the 12 pos and neg to the batteries. I believe those are supposed to be connected to the pos and neg posts on the fuse block. Is that correct??

Yes, the 12v output of the converter goes to the fuse block.

All your 12v accessories go to the fuse block.

Only the converter 48v input goes to the battery bank.

Well got that issue worked out. The radio came on for about 15 seconds then went off. I guess it blowed a fuse but seems strange as to why it would do that.

Have you tried switching the wire from one side of the key switch to the other? One side is hot all the time and the other goes hot when you turn the key.
