Back to the pedal bounce. With the DCX Alltrax used to have a throttle down setting. I set that to 0 and that seemed to fix the throttle mid range bounce problem. With the new XCT they only have a throttle up adjustment and not a throttle down. Maybe I'm missing it or it's hidden. Another thing is the regen. As soon as the pedal comes up it's tries to slow the cart down. I still haven't found a way to eliminate regen completely. Has anybody else?

I bet with your setup your cart really moves! what kind of speeds are you getting and are you still experiencing cart bounce at mid range speed?

I don't want to overwhelm you with questions right out of the gate, so I'll stop there for this round. LOL

DS cars don't typically have brake cable issues on any of the lift kits I've ever installed. Never used Jake's, so I can't speak for them.
Thanks Tahoe for the very thorough and informative response. I'm bummed to find out I have to do the motor first. I was ready to strike on the torque upgrade if I could milk it out of my stock motor. I am nursing my batteries in hopes of doing a Lithium conversion this winter and so I need to save some budget for the batteries if they die before then :(

To be clear on the brake cable question. My Pathway has the stock front drums and I read somewhere that they have to be removed with certain lifts. From what I understand from your answer, if I use a 1" block lift in the front I can get a 20" set of wheels on and my brakes should be fine?!?!

Thanks again for all of the great information you share on this forum and thanks for the fast delivery on the charger rebuild kit I got from you the other day. I appreciate it!

You're very welcome. The 1" Block kit will not interfere with the front brakes. You should be fine.

There are 2 settings which effect the amount of regen
1. to the armature
2. to the battery pack
On the opening page of the program. Move both sliders to the far left or 0% to eliminate regen

Does the plug braking current have any effect on regen?

I like Regen but not too much of it. I have learned how to use the throttle with it. If I want to slow down quickly I lift off the pedal and get a fair amount of decel with Regen. If I want to go at a constant speed I feather the throttle. Regen reclaims some of the energy you would waste by hitting the brakes to slow down. I like that.

I use brakes for the last 10-20 ft of a stop, the majority of the braking is regen dumping recharge back into the pack.

Th way I understand it, plug braking only affects how much regen occurs when the shifter is changed directions. For example, if you accidentally hit reverse while driving forward at 25 mph, it's how quickly the cart will slow down.

Plug braking is not the same as REGEN. It drives the motor backwards against rotation. It is used when you flip the fwd/rev switch while moving - a very bad thing to do!
