2003 club car runs very slow
OK Guys,,,just got in a 2003 club car.,,ser number AA03...DS electronic controller. The batteries were suppose to be the only thing bad..I put in new batteries and cleaned all cables...Charged cart to 50.9...I test drove the cart about 50 yards and it ran great...
Hour or so later went to deliver the cart and after about 200 yards the cart pretty much died....extremely slow in reverse and forward. I had to tow the cart back home...I rechecked all cables and looked for loose wires,,,The battery pack was a 50.8/9. Any ideas why it would run great 50 yards then pretty much nothing.. Thanks Bill |

Re: 2003 club car runs very slow
OK guys ...I have an information update...Maybe this will help to determine what might be wrong....
This morning, I get in the cart and it runs great for about 50 yards, then barely moves in forward or reverse... What I have noticed is I can sit there with the peddle all the way to the floor and it will just barely move, and you can feel like a little surging...as you hold it the surging gets a little stronger and all of a sudden it will take off like it suppose to for about 10 feet then go back to just rolling and surging and then go again.... Help.... |

Re: 2003 club car runs very slow
My golf cart friends...I need help....Im trying to test the MCOR however all the test that's listed here and on other web cites are not for the 2003 DS 36volt club car....This cart to start with does not have a tow/run switch...Next thing the wires going to the MCOR are different color from the instructions...I have a three wire plug and a two wire plug...my colors are purple, yellow and black...and the two pin is blue and green....NOT the colors listed in all the instructions I can find....
I need instructions on how to test the MCOR on a 2003 DS...36 volt. PLEASE thanks Bill |

Unplug the two wire connector and jump the harness with a paper clip
Something else to try, with the key in the OFF position, press and release the GO pedal 50 times. It cleans the track inside the MCOR If either test solves your problem, you need a new MCOR |

Re: 2003 club car runs very slow
Here's how you can test the resistive part of the MCOR. Remove the triangular plug. Put your ohm meter across any 2 pins. You should read one of three different situations. 1st 5 to 6k ohms with no change as you turn the gear. Or approx 1 k ohm which increases to 5 to 6k as you turn the gear. Or 5 to 6 k which decreases to 1k as you turn the gear. Next remove one of the leads and reconnect to the wire that wasn't used in the last test and repeat the tests again. If you find 2 connections that decrease resistance from 5/6 k ohms to approx 1 k ohm your MCOR is probably good. Also this should be a smooth reading w/o the meter jumping around. Also the the gear slowly so you can notice any bad spots.
