Re: How to test 01 regen motor? I seen it earlier but cat find it now.
Test Procedure 1 - Internal Short Circuits
1. Disconnect batteries as shown (Figure 15-1, Page 15-2) and discharge the controller as instructed in WARNING on page 15-1. 2. Using two wrenches to prevent post from turning, disconnect wires from terminals on motor. 3. Using a multimeter set to 200 ohms ( W), place the black (-) probe on the motor housing. Scratch through the paint to ensure a good connection. Place the red (+) probe on the A1, A2, S1, and S2 terminals respectively (Figure 15-2, Page 15-2). Multimeter should indicate no continuity. If the readings are incorrect, the motor will need to be removed from the vehicle and repaired by a qualified technician. See Motor Removal, Page 15-3. 3.1. An incorrect reading from A1 or A2 terminal indicates three possible problems; a grounded A1 or A2 terminal, a grounded wire in the brush area, or a grounded armature/commutator. If the S1 or S2 reading is incorrect, it could be due to a grounded S1 or S2 terminal or a grounded field coil. Test Procedure 2 - Armature Circuit Open 1. Disconnect the batteries as shown (Figure 15-1, Page 15-2) and discharge the controller as instructed in the WARNING on page 15-1. 2. Using two wrenches to prevent the post from turning, disconnect the wires from the A1 and A2 terminals. Using a multimeter set to 200 ohms, place the red (+) probe on the A1 terminal and the black (-) probe on the A2 terminal (Figure 15-2, Page 15-2). The multimeter should indicate continuity. If the reading is incorrect, a possible open or poor contact in a brush assembly and/or open armature windings may be the cause. The motor will need to be removed from the vehicle and repaired by a qualified technician. See Motor Removal. Test Procedure 3 - Field Circuit Open 1. Disconnect the batteries as shown (Figure 15-1, Page 15-2) and discharge the controller as instructed in the WARNING on page 15-1. 2. Using two wrenches to prevent the post from turning, disconnect the wires from the S1 and S2 terminals. Using a multimeter set to 200 ohms, place the red (+) probe on the S1 terminal and the black (-) probe on the S2 terminal (Figure 15-2, Page 15-2). The reading should be continuity. If the reading is incorrect, there may be an open field coil or bad connections at terminals. Remove motor from vehicle and send to a qualified technician for repair. See Motor Removal. |
