DIY underbody LEDs or light kits?
Hello all,
I haven't posted in a while. but I have a new project. Has anyone done a DIY underbody light kit? I'm familiar with some of the kits on the market and would appriciate any recommendations. But what I really am interested in is if anyone has done this as a DIY? For instance, using an inverter or adapter and then using holiday lights or rope lights to pull it off. To me, some 12v rope lights, that have a multi color option and a 12v cig adapter would be perfect. In the past, I simply put some holiday lights under the cart and plugged them in. But I'm interested in a more permanant option with some of the fancy features the kits have. Thoughts? |

Re: DIY underbody LEDs or light kits?
I am running a cheap set of Amazon LED lights. I believe they are (2) 24 inch and (2) 36 inch stripes. For the price they work great.
http://www.amazon.com/ZHOL%C2%AE-7-c...=underglow+kit I run an extra 12V marine battery in the rear, cut a piece of diamond plate to fit and mounted a small fuse block. Running the (headlights, stereo, Leds in speakers, under cart LEDs, etc) and when I am done for the day I just plug it into a battery tender. Works great! |

I make my own kits all the time for the custom power wheels cars I sell. simple led strips that I make to length and run direct off 12volt power supply with a toggle switch

paintdude it looks like we use the exact same stuff, I usually secure my strips with clear silicone to ensure good stick, do you use anything different?
