84 club car not charging?

hey guys when i plug in my charger the needle reads just above zero let it charge for 12 hrs needle in same spot .is there anyway to test my charger .

Yes, plug it into another cart or try another charger known to be good. Or maybe provide some more information. Does it hum? Does the needle actually move or is it not zeroed? Anything else unusual?

yes it hums and the needle is on zero when u plug it in barely comes off zero

Ok then, Have you done any work on your cart recently peculiarly on the batteries? Are your batteries filled to the required level with electrolyte (water)?

yea just got it ,it has new batteries,motor,silenoids,will check water level new batteries just assumed they was full,guy i got it from had everything wired wrong including the batteries .got it running kids rode it for a few hours then it started getting slow

Is it 36 or 48 volts. Do you have a volt meter? Be careful you don't overfill if they are low.

its 36 and yes i have a meter

Sounds to me like the wires from charge port did not get hooked up or hooked up correctly. Check the wiring diagram for your cart.

After the 12 hour charge does it fell like the batteries charged any. They may be charging but the meter isn't working. Also children can be tough on batteries let them know when to put it on the charger.
