Plum Quick Bandit Upgrade
Well, look what the brown Santa dropped off today! Plum Quick did their Bandit magic and we're in business. Took just a little over 2 weeks to get it back (was in their shop about 7-8 business days). Did some contorting of the mind and body, and had the help of neighbor to get it back in without having to remove the rear seat and body but not too bad.
2011 CC Precedent, 12" wheels with low profile tires, so only about 1" taller than stock. 4AWG cables, but batteries are about 2 years old. I also didn't check tire pressure. Stock controller and solenoid. Hit 24.7mph on the GPS with two of us in the cart. My phone speedometer (using GPS) was around 25mph with just me on the cart, touching 26 every once in a while. We're on the coast of Florida, so pretty flat here. Only variable in each direction would be wind. Did a couple street races with a neighbor who has a lifted EZGO with 14" wheels & 23" tires, Alltrax SPM controller, HD solenoid, 2AWG cables and 1 year old Trojan batteries. He was definitely quicker off the line and up to top speed faster, but we practically tied light pole to light pole. And past the pole, it wasn't even close as his top speed was around 19-20. I'm considering the XCT400 upgrade in the future to get more torque and control back. Just need to let the wallet cool off first... and do some cosmetic upgrades that my wife will notice more... and care about. While I know that the Bandit upgrade advertises removing regen braking (which I was fine with), the pedal-up braking is still there... not nearly as quick or strong but after a second or two, it does slow the cart down. Wondering if my pedal up mode is on 1 or 2? Any thoughts? Many thanks to Robby & Rick at Plum Quick. I'm a believer! |

Re: Plum Quick Bandit Upgrade
I've got little girls and we primarily use the cart for scooting around the neighborhood, so I'm actually completely fine with 26mph. Already have belts on the rear seat. May need to add some on the front seat too!
What I'd be interested in with the XCT400 is just getting that torque curve dialed in and add some smooth, steady torque throughout the throttle position. |

I'd ride it a while as is, see how it goes a while when loaded down.

The Curtis 350 amp is plug and play, gives good take off and speed. I really like my set up.

With the PQ and the Florida flat lands it is my opinion that you got all you'll ever need.

You may notice a second or two of regen braking when doing 25+ mph but once it gets down to 24mph it releases and will not engage again. And it’s a heavy regen very noticeable. Not a slight thing at all. |
