Default Club Car wont charge.

I have a 1993 Club Car, when I bought it the cart came with an ez go Textron charger. it worked fine until our neighbors let their sprinkler go crazy and got the charger wet, after that I plugged it in and it would trip the breaker. i was told the transformer was bad, I looked for a used charger online and found the exact same charger but it when i plug it in it does not charge the crowfoot end when tested with a volt meter reads 42+ VOLTS the charger seams to be working it hums and has voltage at crowfoot end but when plugged into the cart the hum doesn't change and the amp gauge does not move at all. please help

Make sure the wires from the charge port are connected to the batteries and the connection is good. Pull on them pretty firm they sometimes corrode in the ends and lose connection.

Check the fuse on your charge port on the cart. You may have an inline fuse but none the less, if the charger is plugged in and voltage is not getting to the batteries, you've blown a fuse on the charge port. Likewise, and be careful doing this, use jumper cables to connect the charger to the terminals on the batteries and plug it back in.... see if you get an AMP draw on the charger. You should because you have voltage bypassing the harness on the cart and going straight to the batteries.

As a note, on the top of your crowsfoot plug (under the seat), there's a wire fuse in a glass cover, wired in series to the positive side of the port.... make sure it's intact.

thanks so much for the help I looked at the fuse on the charger port it looked fine after pulling glass cap off I saw the fuse was broke also thanks for the info about using jumper cables good way to test charger....
I am now wondering if you can bypass the fuse or if that's not a smart idea

That's not a smart idea. It blew for a reason... I'd check for a dead short and install a new one. That's where you need to start.
