48 volt series cart forward and reverse switch
Is there a way I check to see if my forward/reverse switch has went out? It's been a little finicky for a while now had to push it hard either way and sometimes a couple times to get it to go. Last weekend I went to back up didn go so went to forward then back to reverse it backed up then that was it, sometimes if I play with it back and forth I can get a slight movement but that's it. Any way to by pass it or just make sure that's it? I just put a controller on it a couple weeks ago. Also had a bad battery then and my other battery's are the greatest so wanna make sure what it before I start throwing money in it again

You can do a continuity test between contact points but this will often show minor contact as good where high loads will make minor contact fail.
It sounds to me like you on again off, wiggle, shift again, sometimes working operation is evidence enough. It's time for you to find a true HD F&R. |

Re: 48 volt series cart forward and reverse switch
I took it to a cart shop today he said it was either the controller or motor, controller is only 2 weeks old to me don't sound like a motor but could be. Gonna pull the motor tomorrow and check it

Re: 48 volt series cart forward and reverse switch
It sounds more like the limit micro switch on the FNR not making good connection (probably the lever).
If it was really a problem in the high current, there would most likely be a lot of heat near the FNR. |
