"Ike" Cart Disscusion
There have been several new threads started by members requesting help and advice on rebuilding an "Ike" cart.
When these threads are started the replies turn into a debate rather than the advice OP is rquesting and needs. I blame myself for being one of the main posters that start said debates. So here is a thread we can have fun with and debate the cost, longevity of cart life(or lack there of) restoring one. So I guess I will start...... The Ike Mentality As I mentioned most of us have little to no cost in these carts. The reason why we are on this forum is to seek advice and obtain a better understanding of electrical systems, acc installation instructions, where to purchase the right part at the best price etc. Once we have a grasp on how things work on cart then it is a matter of diagnosing a resolving to get cart running(for now). Most of these carts already have lift, tires, rims, custom tops, brush guards, drink holders and many acc that would cost approx $3,000 to have installed by a dealer. If you spend some time online you can find a good used clean stock cart that has been refurbished by a dealer for $1000-$3000 depending on year, model and condition. Once used car is purchased and acc added owner will have $4000-$6000 invested in a sound cart. My cart was free and I have now spent approx $500 on parts and $400 in acc for a total of $900. Is my work as good as what a dealer can offer? Not even close!!! I do however feel that my "savings" are approx $6500 over what it would cost me to purchase like cart from dealer. It may break down next week, month, or even a year from now but $6500 is.....ALOT |

Re: "Ike" Cart Disscusion
Is there really a need for "another" Ike thread?

For a 1998 48 Volt? Bet Mike would have retired a long time ago if he could get that for a 98 model cart with $400.00 worth of acc. |

Re: "Ike" Cart Disscusion
Honestly LIVIN, we're happy if your happy. We'd all be happier if maybe we could just stop talking about it. It's been debated to death and it's clear nothing is going to change your mind. Please don't start another thread about this... as one of the mods on here I'm telling you we just don't need it.
Thank you and have a nice day. |

Maybe this thread should be locked before it hits the second page?
