2001 CC Help

I am in need of some advice please help.

I have a refurbished 2001 club car DS with a 16.5 HP D And D motor with a 400 amp D and D controller that a capacitor has smoked. I took it apart to find the bad capacitor but the unit is sealed. What is the best and cheapest way to get this fixed? Can I use any 400 amp or higher controller to get the same or better performance. I think I actually want to upgrade it for better torque anyway but I don't want to spend 600-900 dollars on it I'm hoping I can get away with a couple hundred dollars somehow. Also a side question what is possible on a programmable controller to change.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated
