Elctric golf cart will not move
Alright I really need some help! So i have an late 70s Yamaha golf cart. It uses a 36 volt system consisting of 6 6 volt batteries. So about a month ago i was diving the cart when i heard a clicking sound and then it died. Now all it is doing is i can hear 5 solenoids clicking but no movement. I jumped the motor and it worked. I also check the voltage across the pack and it was easily over 36 volts. I am out of ideas! So i would appreciate it if you had any suggestions.
Here are some pics to help! |

Re: Elctric golf cart will not move
Hee HEE That's funny! The fix might be easy for your old Club Car....There is a bank of solenoids behind the batteries. The solenoid closet to the drivers side is bad. Or the micro-switch feeding it? It is the Master.....

Re: Elctric golf cart will not move
I'm a little nervous on someone jumping solenoid terminals here!
FIRST THING YOU MUST DO IS YOUR CART REAR END OFF THE GROUND? YOU MUST ELEVATE THE REAR TIRES, JUST INCASE YOU GET IT GOING AND DON'T NEED A NEW DOORWAY OPENING, SMASH YOUR CAR, OR RUN OVER A KID... |
