Default Steering wheel removal on '04 Club Car Ds

I am trying to install my new dash and can not get the steering wheel removed. I have removed the 15/16" nut and can't pull the wheel off. The video's I have watched on line show them coming off when pulling. Any help would be appreciated.

There are MANY threads about this - just search "steering wheel removal" on this forum.

The trick that worked for my '96 was heating - per the following excerpt:

Quote:
Used two different pullers, and beat with hammers and mallets all to no avail. In the end I heated up the hub with a turbo torch.I almost got hit in the face with when it came off so easily after heating.PS I had hose and fire extingisher ready if things went awry.

Mine was a bit of a PITA to get off too.
Screw the nut on by hand until it stops on the nylon. Then take a little square piece of 2X4 and put it on the shaft over the nut. Take a hammer and whack the piece of wood several times while having your feet on the dash and knees behind the wheel putting significant pressure on the wheel. Mine took about three good whacks and it broke loose. Don't be too afraid to whack it.

I just did mine tonight too , unscrew the nut till its flush to the top then take a socket to Match the size and Use It as a punch and tap with a hammer , it will loosen so you can pull it off , only took like ,, 3 or 4 tap and it was off

If you get a really tough one like mine...I used a sawsall to cut off all the plastic and got down to the steel "hub". Then with a good quality puller...I used a bearing splitter type...I finally got it to pop lose. What a pain...but I got it.
