Early 90's Club Car Not Charging
I have a early 90s club car (36v) that I recently bought from a friend. It has new batteries. After using 4-5 rounds, when I plug in the charger, the charger kicks on but the needle on the charger stays around 0, and the cart will not go.
Also, when it is/was charging, the cart is EXTREMELY slow going uphill. Any ideas or help would be greatly appreciated! |

Sounds to me like the capacitor or transformer in your charger has went bad...with charger unplugged take screws on both sides off and pop top off. take a look for burnt wires or does the transformer look burnt at all?

One other thing. Make sure the wires from the charge port connect to the batteries good and clean connections.

You need to plug the charger in after every round of golf. Or anytime you aren't using it.

Re: Early 90's Club Car Not Charging
Have just been informed that the charging receptacle on the cart itself is bad. Also, after a litlle more research, this is a 86 model.
Next question: I've got a new receptacle, but am almost positive that I will need to replace the fuse link (Club Car terminology) on top of the receptacle. I've searched high and low on the 'net and can't find one. Any ideas where I might look? |
