Default '02 DS 48V IQ Motor gets hot and stops

Hi
I have a 2002 Club Car DS IQ and after about 20-40 mintues of about going 0-5 mph around the car show and swap meets my cart stops. I have a stingray and the temp. shows about 150 degrees when it stops. I usally stop for about 20 mintues and run it fast to get air circulating around the motor. So my question is what should I look at for this problem? I do have the Gaminde 2 speed "speedy link" thing on my cart but have had it on for 2 years. Thats the only thing I have done to the motor. Stock motor and controller. Any help appreciated. Thank you!!!!

First off I doubt it's the motor Motors are good for 170 C
It's more than likely the controller and you probably have a loose connection on the motor cables battery cables are controller cables including solenoid

If it was my cart I would be looking at some way to mount a fan to cool off the motor. I've seen cooling fans for passengers online. Maybe mount one of them in the motor compartment.

Thanks Greg. I thought 150f was kinda cool and 170c sounds more reasonable. I'll check all the cables tomorrow. Thanks!

Yes 170 C is just slightly below the temperature that solder melts.

Let me clarify 170 C is not what they should run at it is what the findings are rated at class H temperature rating for a motor

May need to see if it sets a fault code, just copied the text not whole tables,

IQ SYSTEM DISPLAY MODULE (IQDM-P)
OWNERS MANUAL

The vehicle speed controller should be checked for fault codes before any service is performed.
The speed controller, after detecting a fault, will respond in one or more of the following ways:

THERMAL CUTBACK
If the controller heatsink temperature is found to be in excess of 85 C 5 C (185 F 41 F) or below 25 C
5 C (13 F 34.3 F), the thermal cutback fault is detected.
