Difference between Curtis Controller 1510-5201 and 1515-5201
Can someone tell me what the difference between these 2 controllers are? The reason I ask is I have a 09 CC and a buddy of mine has a 02. He lost forward motion on his cart and I believed it to be the DC controller as I just had similar problems with my cart and I bought a new controller(Reman) and its now working again. So I took my controller out of my cart that was working and put in his and his moved both forward and backwards. I didn't do much else just that because I wasn't sure what the differences are but all the wiring is identical from one controller to the other, so it was basically just plug and play.
Now looking at the prices between the 2, the 1510 are anywhere between 300-400 dollars where I can find a 1515 for around 160. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. |

Re: Difference between Curtis Controller 1510-5201 and 1515-5201
The 1515 is for the Excel system and the 1510 for the IQ.
The speed sensor should not have worked on your buddy's cart using the 1515 controller as the pin-outs are different and the negative for the speed sensor would not be available. The Excel controller (1515) would also not allow for a speed magnet to be installed, which is a cheap way to increase the speed of the 2002 IQ cart using the 1510 controller. You may also have throttle issues down the road as the 1515 uses slight different throttle voltages. |

Ok thanks for the information on that. I was just trying to determine if it was his controller box that was bad. But also the 1515 PN one is the one that is on my 2009 CC. I didn't leave it on his, it was just a way to find out if his was bad. Its back in my cart now as I only moved his forward for 5' then backwards for 5'.
Thanks for the information again Have a good day |

You can put the 1515 on a car that had a 1510 on it with a few modifications. Let me know if you're interested in the procedure.

Yeah, if anyone can assist me with the same question as Brendon with regards to fitting a 1510-5201 controller to the new Precedent Excel system will be greatly appreciated.

To put a 1510 (IQ) controller on a vehicle that was originally equipped with the 1515 (Excel) controller you must swap the vehicle main wire harness. The harness you'll need fits exactly like the original but is pinned and wired to operate the 1510 controller.
Part number 103374901 - Wire Harness, IQ, MCOR2, 2008.5 - Present Contact us if you're interested. We can get them. |

The harness is $105.45.
As for the throttle control you have an option of buying the AM293001 mcor 4 conversion kit or a new MCOR2 with the adapters for the gen 2 pedal assembly. If you choose to go that route I'll throw in some used adapters for free. I don't believe you can buy them anymore. |
