Is is a 2000 or a 2000.5???
I am getting ready to start on my 2000 CC DS 48 V. The serial # is A0032-918522. It has the vglide and is a series cart. I determined this by the sticky tutorial. My question is, what are the differences between a 2000 and 2000.5? Seats, windshield, etc.? I must order these things and I want to make sure I get the right stuff. Any help will be appreciated.

If it has the one piece seat back, plastic seat rails, thicker plastic roof, and black roof supports, it's a 2000.5
If it has the two piece seat back, aluminum roof supports, and thinner roof, its a 2000 |

Thanks CCF. It's a 2000.5. What speed can I expect from a stock 48V series cart and what is the best way to speed it up? It hasn't run yet so I don't know what to expect. I figured maybe a 36V motor. Thoughts??

Well, it looks like I need to start looking for a 36V series motor!! Is there anything I can do to the existing system to speed it up?

Re: Is is a 2000 or a 2000.5???
If the cart will be driven on flat areas, You can do a Field Weakening or overdrive circuit.
All You really need is a solenoid to by-pass the Motor Field, but then you either have to drive with your finger on the dash pushing the button, or install a toggle switch and run the risk to forget to toggle OFF and burn the controller and/or Motor trying to start the cart without the Field coil energized. I came up with the sketch in the thread below using a diode or LED to turn a $5 relay into a self-latching relay that gets latched when You press the button and released automatically when You release the Pedal. I thought the LED(s) would be cooler than just a diode because it would give you an indication the circuit is active. http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...ies-motor.html |
